The Bistro and gratefullness
Had 2 trainings at work this week, had a free Feldenchrist class, and went swimming. Also bought tiles on sale to do a set up in the bathroom (need a few more), went out to lunch, got a quote for a driveway grading job(for a job I do) and am very sleepy rather early. Also received a lovely video from a friend. I was up around 6AM after being up late last night. Haven’t adjusted to the time change.
The Bistro. The Bistro is a lunch onlt biz off Camino Del Marcos. This is a small bulding tucked behind stores and State Office Building. Enter and the livley restaurant where you could always get take out is bustling and art expands this small restaurant. They are famous for soups, sandwiches, and “small” big portion meals. AS I went alone today, I sat at the COmmunity table wehre I got immediate service and could listen to the yack yack of people around me. They have a new show with some exquistie collage/mixed media pieces. (Oh by the way go to Santa Fe Baking CO and see their incredibly amazing and technically wonderful photography show. (IS there a theme here? Art in restaurants) These are noteworthy shows and sometimes the artists have to wait 2 years for their show?!
The Bistro has a fast tempo and good service and the vegetable quiche is a lot of food! It’s light and full of veggies too. The crust is rich and the side of coleslaw was really more tha I needed. WHen the guy next to me found out it was only 50 cents more than his hot dog, he said next time he’d get the quiche. The lady across from me had a bowl of soup a squash soup I think, and she was quite content with that. The corn beef sandwiches looked a bit scant but the folks did not complain. I almost asked for a bite of the cream like piece which seemed totaly decadent, but I kept my manners in that almost traveling fork. It’s easy to be spoiled and have very high expectations in Santa Fe.
So make your gratefullness list. Blogsville: www.about-chicagoil.com www.about-louisvilleky.com
