Super what? Superbowl ads….and did you see Obama?

by

Well, I am waiting to see who wins the SUPER BOWL. Above you’ll have witnessed some of the most expensive ads of the year. Frankly I wasn’t greatly impressed. This is such a tradition to see the ads though, I thought you might enjoy a few. Actually the Fed Ex one with pigeons was pretty cool. I hope the game proves far more exciting. I was intrigued with the way the ads were presented, as I watch no TV, I can see I’m out of touch with ad culture nowadays. When I sold advertising, we watched everything for ideas and to keep current.

Since I am online, I was curious about the tech ads. Hmmmm…would buying local ads on the local cable TV help…?

After a lovely day of snow, we are now getting rain. So much for the clean white wonder. Perhaps later it will snow again.

On Friday night Obama made an appearance at the Santa Fe Community College. About six thousand people tried to get in and 2000 had to wait in the very cold outside!!! The cars appartently were lined up 8 miles or so which must have made a huge traffic jam. He did stop and talk to those outside after his speech. That means almost 1 out of 10 people here went to see him. Most likely it represents more of the population as the registered voters would not include immigrants, and many children. So it could have represented as high as 30% of adult registered voters for the Santa Fe Area. I tell you a fever is spreading across the land and the enthusiasm is growing. If voter turnout is as impressive we’ll set new records. I wish I had voted early.

Actually, I am glad I had to work, because I really don’t like huge crowds. If I had been an adminsitrator, I would have had most classrooms open and ready to seat all those bystanders, plus shuttles from various locations. But hey I worked back east as a college administrator years ago: you think different there. I wonder what he said.

I might even get an old paper and see how Albuquerque did on Saturday. Enjoy.
