RUSSIAN BRILLIANCE

The masters of the Russian arts are on full display as pianist Terrence Wilson performs Prokofiev’s masterpiece concerto!

Of the five piano concertos written by Prokofiev, the Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26, has garnered the greatest popularity and critical acclaim. The concerto radiates a crisp vitality that testifies to Prokofiev’s inventive prowess in punctuating lyrical passages with witty dissonances, while maintaining a balanced partnership between the soloist and orchestra.

More on terrence in the next blog. These concerts are great opportunities for youth and adults alike. The inspiration supplied by young artists who are experiencing considerable success early in their careers provides an excellent role model for everyone. Passion, dedication and lots of work can propel the lives of many a musician. We have an abundance of such young musicians here in the NM, and our support for their excellent efforts needs to be there for them. I applaud all the sposors of these projects. I applaud the musicians and their families. I am proud of our youth.
