Recession 10 Steps to action plus Bake cookies

Yep the world economic forecast is swirling in a big pit. Drastic survival measures may be in order. Fortunately my Mom and Grandmothers lived through the great depression. My paternal grandfather did some smart things. He worked in a foundry: hard labor. He bought land. He bought a duplex. He built a tiny house on some land. Then he built a big house and barn: himself doing the work on these houses. He died in his early 40’s. My Dad did not follow in his footsteps. Land was distributed among some family members, and sold. He sold the duplex. My grandmother lived to be old and was cared for.
These ideas are much easier to start. My mother baked cookies.
Attitude is great but action keeps the world working. Working is good. Take Holy Basil for stress. My mother baked cookies because she could not afford to buy them. However my parents often managed to save $$$.
1) Keep you job if you have one….AND…plan ahead. Create 5 streams of income. Yep 5. Preferably doing things you enjoy. If your job gets wiped out, you’ll have some income. While you have your job, you can start saving extra cash for lean times. Old Maine farmers often had over $100,000 stored/buried in their fields. This money sometimes was found later after the farm was sold. It was still US bucks.
2) I am not a financial planner, however convert 30% of your non-401K savings/investments into material goods. A teacher I knew bought antiques. Hobby. When she lost her job, selling those antiques created income for at least 3 years. Pick items you love, siler, gold, stuff you can sell at any time.
3) Turn your hobbies into cash.
Resell books, DVD’s, Cameras, etc.
Love skin care products? Vitamins? Sell them.
Love clothes? Trade or sell them. Resale stores will do good in the upcoming days.
PART TIME sales adventures can create cash. PLus MLM’s let you get products at lower costs.
4) Study EBAY. USe it. Ditto: Craigslist.
5) Trim the budget.
6) Pay off debt.
7)Make a creative food budget.
Buy on sales. Stock up on non-perishables. My mother allways had a month’s or more food in the cupboards to cover the end of the month.
add more VEGETARIAN meals.
soups and stews are fun.
CUT OUT or reduce: FAST foods. Bring a bag lunch to work.
SKIP frozen dinners.
Bake cookies, breads, cakes, casseroles. Homemade is in. If you save $300/month…debt will shrink fast.
Learn to sew. If you can do alterations, you can create a clothing budget.
9) Turn your passion inot cash. You’ll have more fun.
10) Give to charities of your choice. Law of circulation. Be, feel abundant you are.
11) Read ABUNDANCE literature, it helps.
12) Write journals. More on this later. I gotta go keep my job. Mary
