Let’s see if I can find some clips…and this week at the Santa Fe Brewing CO….

Whether you are here or around the world, you can learn about our cultural diversity, just by visiting Youtube the New Mexican Channel. I’m listening to Leah Black, originally from Denver Colorado. This is easy music, talking about finding your passion and doing it. She’s very comfortable and soothing. enjoy an uplift and hear from herself how she puts her music together from many genres: blues, jazz, world music.
A few moments ago I enjoyed discovering a music video of Black Eagle and friends
in Flying Free: inspiring and dancing! This is a great intro to several major powows and the exquisite awakening shared by their vibrant roots. Witness the magic and power! His clip is highlighted on newmexicomusic.org (see link above) He’s on South by Showase DVD.
For a quick trip about New Mexico listen to Aurora Australis: and see her travel metaphorically around the state….and then including one of our industry expertise: weapons of mass destruction! The video interwines much of our beauty in varied landscapes and towns and her lyrics. Well done. A must see overview of NM too. Find her on newmexicomusic.org.
Ronald Roybal plays music, the flute and guitar, and gives you a wondrous introduction to music, land, his ideas, and culture nearby Santa Fe: go to the New Mexico Music channel on You Tube to find him! Magical: combining Native American and Spanish music together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVdvmNRK_3U

Carrie Rodriguez
The emergence of fiddler Carrie Rodriguez as a stunning singer and instrumentalist caps an already long musical journey for a young woman in her 20s.
Rodriguez, a native of Austin, Texas, began playing violin at the age of five. By age ten, she had already performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Texas Suzuki Tour Group. Her first steps away from classical music were in her early teens when she began accompanying her father, noted Texas singer-songwriter David Rodriguez, in local clubs.

Of course you can also just drive on over and listen to the show! Thursday night….be there.
There are wonderful clips, but most were not copy able. So click away and look deeper into the sounds and stories of New Mexican Musicians (and visitors).
