My painting now gone

My painting now gone

I have a friend who writes great things. Her name is Robin Easton. She just might help to change the world. Perhaps that’s a bit corney, however in Santa Fe, many people create projects that really make a difference. The stories are daunting and endless. So here’s a clip from a recent blog, go read the rest at www.nakedineden.com. As one commentor wrote, we really do need ways to pull together in these chaotic times. (paraphrased.)

How do we see something that supposedly hasn’t yet happened? During my years in the wild, linear time vanished. For me there is no time. What I’d previously known as past, present and future merged until they became one and all happened at once. Initially disoriented, I eventually grew to thrive in the absence of time. It allowed me to speak with and hear those I love no matter where they are, close or far, dead or alive. The absence of time allowed me to more readily tap into Universal Knowledge and Love. It’s not always easy because I see things that sadden and horrify me. I easily feel the world’s pain. But I also experience unparalleled Love. I see Love everywhere I go.

No, I am not blind to the horror in the world. I’d be lying to say that I’ve never felt hate for people who abuse and torture. But I now choose to focus on Love because it’s something positive that I can do, and I know without doubt that Love exists. It changes lives. Love motivates me to actively do what I can to end fear, hate and suffering. I’ve fallen in love with a Love so great that I am compelled to love everywhere I go, everyone I meet. Each day I’m thankful that I live in a free country, with friends, family, food, shelter….a blessed life. I can make a difference.

The two organizations listed below (with videos) bring about positive change. Instead of complaining about all the horror, or pretending it doesn’t exist, or sinking into fear and depression, get involved, change your world. Even if all you do is forgive those who have hurt you. Do it for those who’ve been so wounded by hideous crimes that they may never be able to love or forgive. Love your family, your friends, your wife, your husband, your children, your life…everyday. Turn people’s lives around by modeling love, even in the face of hate…LOVE.

Take away love and the earth is a tomb. ~ Robert Browning

Love,
Robin

Dear Mary,

For all of us there are times when we’re overwhelmed. There is too much to do, and too little time to do it! This, of course, causes stress; and we all know…stress is not good!

When I was a freshman in college, I learned a simple lesson that I never forgot. And to this day, when I have too many things on my plate and feel stress raising its ugly head, I repeat to myself what I heard over 40 years ago. It worked then, and for me…it still does!

I’ll share the story from my book, The Nature of Success, in the chapter titled: Set Realistic Goals. I hope it helps you as much as it did me!

Also, today I’m pleased to offer a special price of $10.00 per book, including a 3 minute inspirational movie based on the book. Just click here to watch the movie or to learn more.

Note: This offer expires at 11:59 PM CST on 10/15/08.

“Set Realistic Goals”
An excerpt from
The Nature of Success
By Mac Anderson

When I was a freshman in college I learned an unforgettable lesson.

I was having a rough week when there was a lot to do and very little time to do it. I was overwhelmed. I panicked.

That night a friend stopped by my dorm room. When I told him my problem, he said, “Mac, I’ll share something with you that my grandmother told me a few years ago. She said to always remember: ‘Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard.’”

I said, “Bob, come on. Here I am drowning in work and your lifeline is a quote from your grandmother. Come on!”

After he left, however, those twelve little words kept dancing in my head. I took out a piece of notebook paper and listed all the things I had to do in the next three days. That night I began knocking them off one by one.

Three days later I took out that paper and marked through the last thing on the list. It felt great! And then I took out another piece of paper and wrote down the words: “Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard.” I then folded the paper and put it in my wallet. As many of you know, I’ve been collecting quotes ever since.

You see, success doesn’t come cascading like Niagara Falls; it comes one drop at a time through short-term, realistic goals.

Experts on motivation disagree on a lot of things, but one thing they all agree on is that your levels of motivation are directly tied to your expected probabilities of success. In other words, if you believe you can do something (the goals are realistic), you’re likely to be highly motivated. If, however, you think you can’t (because the goals are unrealistic) your motivation level falls greatly.

The lesson here is to continue to dream big dreams, but realize that the short-term goals that take you to the next plateau are the real keys to success

Hope you have some fun. You can direct your life and achieve remarkable things. Mary

The Governor and me. Yes GOvernor Richardson, NM, promo Obama

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I got a call from my swim buddy to let me know my Picture was in the paper (wonder if I made TV news?) the Santa Fe New Mexican, go to Sept 16th to the photo gallery to see, the link: SantaFeNewMexican.com that’s the simple part of the story. Our “southside center” is finally open, a much longer story, in an efort to rally and secure the Hispanic vote. SO OBAMA, is finally waking up. Remember the primaries? DA!

I went because a friend wanted to, not realizing that there was going to be a nearby center. Yes, now when i get free time, I will show up to work. There are less than 50 days left to the campaign.
Having my picture, indirectly, with the GOvenor is cool. Everyone will tease me about it.

However, the GOvenor was moving forth with his speech, and not saying one thing about women. See even he does not “get” that the woman’s vote, and womens issues really count in this election. Ditto, the MAN, Obama. They gloss over it at best. Richardson, only made a comment after I spoke loudly, “What about WOMEN?”

That was the high point of that talk, everyone laughed, or said, “Yeah, what about women!” Since the big boys of ALL colors (races) continue to ignore us, especially if you are a white haired woman (Richardson and I are contemporaries), then please, ….

TELL ALL YOUR women friends, that despite their tunnel vision, and on-going Chauvinism, to gather up our power, and vote. Of course, I’d prefer you to vote for Obama, however women show those guys who will make the real difference. I speak to women of all races. I also invite all women to make their voice really heard after the election as well. Don’t let them pretend that our ideas, and votes don’t matter. Hey drag along your guy friends too to the polls.

Old news, but seldom are deeper issues addressed or talked more about. The point really is without the women’s (of all ages) vote, Obama WON’T win.

Here’s a gift to you. Have the best day you. Mary. Tell others. Imagine a million people, what if we could make that another million or more?

If you can’t see the images below, click here: http://www.simpletruths.com/nws/arc/08/080129-MYBB.htm Dear Mary,

A few years ago Kate Nowak awoke in the middle of the night and took her pen and paper from the nightstand. She said a gentle soul-whisper poured forth the words to May You Be Blessed. And the rest, as they say, is history.

From the words of this beautiful blessing, Kate created a short 3 minute movie with the goal of blessing one million people who watched it on the internet in one year. Since then, millions around the world have watched and have been inspired by Kate’s words…including me.

This beautiful movie and the new Simple Truths gift book titled: May You Be Blessed is not about religious beliefs…it is about joy, gratitude, appreciation, kindness and love.

So sit back, turn up your speakers, and watch May You Be Blessed. I guarantee you’ll be blessed by doing so. So just click on the link below, but…make sure you share it with your friends, family and co-workers. It’ll make their day!

4 days left to Christmas: can you get there stress free?

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

img_3589.JPG

OK: Make a 5 list for reducing stress.

img_3524.JPG

Photos by Mary MacIntyre Take time to relax.

img_2879ab.jpg

DOUBT IT! This crazy time of the year makes it a challenge to live stress free. However as conscious humanbeings we can do a lot to shift our mindset and MAKE TIME to love ourselves and others. What makes you relax and smile. Insert quick photo images or feeling recordings into your mind. Call upon them frequently. If you are Christian, Think: Jesus, thank you and smile. Bring love into every act. Try it for the next 4 days.

Sing. Listen to music that makes you feel good. Light candles. Stop whatver you are doing and feeling and be present for 30 seconds. If there is a child in the room, stop, ask for a hug. Or say something positive to the child. Even if they are driving you crazy! Step outside and breathe.

Parties used to be fun. If you are going to attend a festive gathering, bring a fun recipe. This may be tough, but think of what it would take for you to be yourself and aprreciate those around you. Give yourself a list of clues and use them for fun.

If you are giving a party call upon whoever to help you. Let the kids be a major contributor. If they are old enough: hire them to serve food replace stuff running out and help with set-up. Yes HIRE THEM. Their dedicated work help will ease your grief. Last year my 79 yr old friend was hirerd to help keep food refilled and to serve drinks and a few other tasks. She made over $100 at a very fancy party plus the cost of transportation and food she got to eat and a present that the hostess gave her. The hostess could enjoy her event.

remember why we are having a holi day and let your spirit splurg on short breaks. Bring the spirit to the foreground and be glad that you have the freedom to do so. Be glad that you can do whatever you can. Be glad that you are alive.

img_4212.JPG

This may be a bit strange tonight because in addition to talking about New Mexico. I’ll include a few other topics:

1) No war in Iran. It’s obvious that the President has been trying to pump another WAR. NO thanks, because guess what? He’s LYING AGAIN. What will it take for Americans to stop the warmonger?

2) President George Bush is the MAJOR threat to world peace. He makes war to make $$$, to boost a sagging, possibly maniac, definitely alcoholic personality. Want stability in the Mideast? Get Bush out of there NOW! If Bush wasn’t creating wars, we’d have a lot less enemies.

Ok I will get off my soapbox. Send letters to your representatives.

Here’s a movie that might prove inspiring. I am not making money on this site. I just like the movies. You can sign up, and every week or so get to see a short flick. Yes I do mean short and you have time now to click the link and….

Dear Mary,

I have been asked many times…How did you start Successories? A simple answer is that since college I’ve loved quotations, and with Successories, found a way to share my passion with the rest of the world. It’s like looking through the lens of a camera; the image can be a little “fuzzy” and, with one slight twist of the lens, can become crystal clear. For me, a quotation can do the same…the words can bring an idea to life.

That’s why I’m so excited about our new book…Great Quotes From Great Leaders that was compiled by my wife, Peggy. It is a beautiful coffee table edition with 160 pages, 75 wonderful photographs and over 400 great quotations from leaders from all walks of life.

So here’s a small sampling in this short 3 minute movie of Great Quotes From Great Leaders. Enjoy the music, enjoy the photos and of course, enjoy the words of wisdom and inspiration.

So today to top off a wonderful day: a swim, the sauna, my Feldancraz class, and a short visit with Pat (who could use your healing prayers), I went out to dinner at Espiritu Pizzera, which is a fairly fancy restaurant and they have extrordinary pizzas and cuisine. I had Pesto on fettucini (yes a second pasta meal in 2 days), with a salad (superb mixed greens plus veggies) for my dinner. My friends had similar meals…another Pesto, and Three mushrrom over penne. We were surrounded by fantastic art which included large scenes of lovely people in a latin color scheme. His last name is Larson, perhaps Art ot Walt first name, but I also could not find so maybe it is Harold Larson, doing paintings differnet from his usual, abstracts. Or I might just be confusing famous Santa Fe painters. Seversl searches did not clarify this matter. So the food was good, the paintings terrific, the service medium, atmosphere great, and on a Tuesday night one could find a table easily. I give it an 8 for tonight. I also love going there because years ago the owner always donated meals for my church auction.

Work and listen? It’s fun to listen to a training video and write at the same time. The video was short which helped.

So have more fun….and enjoy these videos. HAPPY PEACEFUL HOLIDAYS….

As most of you know, I am a blogger and a photographer. Like many I am juggling many jobs and wearing a few more hats. Ideally I want to create enough income to give up one part time job and work independently full time. I believe, indirectly this will also contribute to sustainable living. I will drive less (saving gas and keeping my old paid for car on the road longer). I will make more art. My health expenses will decrease due to less stress. I will need to buy less. Part of this is sweet dreaming.

I want to earn more. It’d be nice to afford a hybrid, or a diesel fueled car that can use bio-diesel. I love to shop at thrift stores where I save money and my money goes to support good causes. Still I would be even happier as I improve my living. (oops inserted the note from Chuck before the story! Read on to make sense of it)

This may seem odd, my including a personal email. However, Chuck would love hearing from you too! If you can use a mentor, wish to have ways to keep your mind and mood up and improving (sign up for his podcasts or newsletters)…this man is for real (and still a marketer).

Not long ago, I received an email from www.simpletruths.com

They sent a video with the following story: short version: guy hears a story about letting friends, or important people in your life, know that they have made a difference in your life. So guy goes and writes a letter to his 8th grade teacher. She’s now old in her 80’s, living alone and most of her family and friends have died. (The video is better) She writes back thanking him for the letter because he’s the first student to have ever written her!

So I send the video and a small note to my friends list. I remind them that they have each made a difference in my life (on so many occassions!). I get a reply back, from someone I rarely see and still love about how that note made a special difference to her on “that” day.

Life is short, I suggest you do something similar too. Now this morning I received an e-mail from another friend who has been helping me learn internet marketing. I’ve been busy oh so busy! and haven’t been able to do a lot on my businesses online. He had a great idea for me, which expanded what I had been thinking about! My heart filled with joy at his consideration!
This guy, Chuck Bartok, is far busier than I! Here are a few links to see what he is about.

Chuck’s note above.

All this reminds me that as the weather gets colder, days darker, and holidays roll round: many people feel stressed, somewhat blue, and may need a few mental boosts/pick me ups. One thing I do is have several sources of positive thinking/well being/spiritual news sources, newsletters, etc. Here’s one worth reading: Published monthly for The Science of Being Well Network
