Grocery List…Please read the following:

This is a great reminder:

SPECIAL GROCERY LIST

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.

She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: “Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as

soon as I can.”

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.

The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, “Do you have a grocery list?”

Louise replied, “Yes sir.” “O.K” he said, “put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.”

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, “I can’t believe it.”

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

“Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.”

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store.

The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;

“It was worth every penny of it . Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.”

THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That’s all you have to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune.

Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families’ life

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don’t have as we do. Amen & Amen

Don’t break this, please!

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards.

May you always walk with Angels ..

God Bless !

Finding the Holy Light

Where does your light find you?

Is it at dawn, while you still dream, before awakening?
Perhaps while you walk at noon and catch the sky’s breath?
At home in the dark while you wrestle with frustration?

Where does your light inform you,
Of who you really are?

take a moment of silence to consider the light within you.
Make notes.

These blogs offer fun springboards where you can dive off and explore notions and themes suggested here. I believe there are 4 weeks of Advent proecceding Christmas. So we are close to the middle of advent. I’m curious to see what I can find on this subject. I’ll combine it with Finding the Holy Light.

A great listen…go visit.

Well this wasn’t as easy as I thought. I wanted to mix the wonder of NM’s concerts with light and wonder…not much on youtube. You could go to KSFR to Native American Radio and hear some beautiful music recorded, hopefully on podcast.

Do you remember when you thought like this?

Support Free Press and the American Constitution!

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

This will be a short rant and then I will find some music to listen to: one always needs to find some balance.

I am playing a little with you here. Have an idea about what each will be about? Click away and see what you think. I listened to Amy Goodman this afternoon, and she was interviewing a guest from Egypt. He had been thrown into jail for an article he wrote questioning the President. He mentioned another man who died in jail because of discussion of gay concerns. Journalists all over the owrld are facing grave danger for reporting what they see or speaking thier minds!

Here at home quiet censorship is rampant. A group of bold writers use the internet and blogs to report on many untold stories. If you show up at the wrong political event, said reporters have also often faced jail time (in the USA).

So be bold and continue to wrtie what you are passionate about and stand up for free press.
While you are at it, review the constitution and stand up for that as well. We are only a free people if we take responsibility to be active in supporting our rights.

Also: start tracking the drumbeat for another war! The democratic candidates might as be the background vocals for King george. Sure George W., you can go and start a war with IRAN. Why not? Add a mess, create subtrefuge. Where are our diplomats? What about working things out before fighting? Peace on Earth? This is a bit absurd: can’t decrease violence at home, or afford health insurance for low income kids at home. But we can help the rest of the world get angrier with us by going on a killing spree oversees. Civilians are maimed and killed. Terrorists seize upon the opportunity to recruit more insurgents. Economies get crushed. What’s the point? VA benefits barely cover our wounded and disabled veterans.

I say roll out the draft and see how long it takes to end wars. What’s the real point anyway?

Music ANYONE?

Ala New Mexico:

We have great local musicians and we also have incredible bands passing through towns. I am always amazed how many new venues I can listen to here around the state of New Mexico.

Also check out the Lensic and Outpost for more listings. Or simply go to www.alibi.com

Well here’s quick good night. Visit some older blogs and have an earful of good tunes.

Thirsty Ear Festival, A restaurant rant, and music notes.

Monday, August 6th, 2007

The Thirsty Ear Festival is coming sooner than you think with expanded venues, 1st weekend in September. Buy tickets now. Hear those fiddles, mandolins, and basses tuning up?

Wise Fools has a great mix of famous dancers doing a workshop to prepare for an outstanding show, sponsored by CCA and that will be performed at the Railyard dance studios. Date to be announced.

Miss J Stuart the cello lady, plays at Santa Fe Baking Company on Sunday evenings. I’m going to contact her for an interview.

Restaurant Rant: Why is it when one or 2 round white hair ladies enter a restaurant they are given the worse seat? Well restaurants, the white tiger ala Mary is going to get you! On Friday i wanted to treat myself to a nice lunch, my fav sandwich shop has gone out of business! I’m in the College Plaza on Cerrillos Rd. I don’t have time to go far inorder to get to work on time. So there’s this Himilayan and….Restaurant, whose card I have misplaced. This lunch is spposie to be a “Treat”. The “Indian, or other Asian country waiter moves slowly and tries to seat me at a small table right near the front of the restaurant in the loudest and most trafficked spot. I decline and ask for a better seat, a booth. Waiter scowls, the restaurant is nearly empty. Short story: LOUSY SERVICE. Most of the food on the buffet is lukewarm to cold. I ask for a refill of a hot item. Staff moves slower than most snails.

So I get back to the booth. Eat some food. On a scale from 1-10: 10 high: food equals a 3. I want to try something else and get the lemons that the waiter refused to get for me. I talke with a guy who was honored like a king. He loves the place, especially the desserts. He eats there almost every day. Today he brought a friend to join him. He gets great service. So he’s a regular, a man, and a little older than me. There’s 2 sides of every story.

Waiter doesn’t bring me a check. I complain to the manager who makes excuses for the staff. I go on and finally say there is no excuse for a bad attitude and bad service. Dah, when will people wake up? In a town where there are plenty of great restaurants and great service: mediocre doesn’t cut it. So if you need good food, try the snwich shop accorss the street.. Beans Plus Cafe. Coffee beans plus sandwiches and meals.

Is it time to go to bed yet?

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Tired. Was up really early this morning. Now my mantra is more traffic, more traffic…probably will ddream about it tonight. Heard about a friend’s one big mistake where he trusted an employee and he lost over 20 years of pension! Seems illegal to me. Always watch your back in business I guess.

Remember at the Peace Day celebration this weekend there WILL be music and fun. Also the Albuquerque REZFEST. Refer to previous blogs

And always in Santa FE on Fridays, art galleries will have openings. Check out the Paseitempo published by the New Mexican papers. Be back soon. Mary

Peace Day August 5th and 6th.

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

What is Peace Day all about? It’s an international time of prayer and education about peace. You can go to DiegoRadio@KSFR.com or simply: KSFR.com to find yesterday’s interview about Peace Day. This is the 9th annual event. There will be multiple events in both Los Alamos and Santa Fe. It commemorates the dropping of the ATOMIC bomb on Hiroshima. YES IT IS A GOOD TIME to reflect that the USA is the only country to use WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. And Los ALamos is the home and creator (past and present) of WMD’s, although that may change.

However this peace day does more. A local woman told the story of Japanese children making oragami cranes and tying them to trees as prayers for peace in the whole world. This story was told to some children in elementary school and other youth programs here in Santa Fe. They wanted to do something too and they organized. 90,000 children around the world donated $90,000 to promote peace and to create a pernament bronze sculpture whose design was created by children around the world who sent wax sculptures to be added to the bronze.

If you can’t attend the educational events, or the spiritual labryrinth ceremony, or listen to the church bells ring throughout the cities, Make your own peace birds, ring your own bells, and take time to pray for peace. (You can still love bombs, America, the troops, etc.) We all can use peace and the blessings that spirit teaches us. People, especially children will be praying around the world: join them. Ring bells on the 5th at 5PM to sychronize with Japan time.

I almost forgot there will be drumming and other musical events in both Los Alamos and Santa Fe in conjunction with these events. Bless you.
