My day has been full of wonder, and rest. First a poem that I wrote for friends, by Mary MacIntyre, blog author,me.
On joyful night
cold black sky filled with stars
the farillitos called our feet to
wander to a mystical den
candles celebrated
luminous magic
of fires from old
the family pew was strong
and cool and few took time to notice
three hundred years of sermons
while juniper called the wild nerness(t)
in through windows draft.
one by one friends came
sharing stories and fame,
conversations open
sometimes bold
caressed our blessings
being told.
Food abundant
prepared with love,
the sacred space
opened its heart to our doors.
an eve’s new years
connected hopes
joy shared.
outside the air was cold
i could see my breath
like times old.
i laughed thanking the stars.
all those candles glowed
like drawings in ocean’s sand
flickered with spirit’s love
lingering now with my thanks to you.
I withold some personal thoughts, but the night was filled beyond expectation. I did not sleep much as my mind awoke minutes after I laid my head on the pillow. I relished in my post excitement. I may have fallen asleep near dawn and let myself sleep late comforted by cats and bundled beneath warm blankets. Later in the day I composed my poem, a mere shadow from one that emerged earlier in the morning. I called a friend and invited her to dinner, called her back and asked her to invite another friend. We treated him. A friend of his waited on us. This man retired from a large city fire department works at two homeless shelters, and works in the restaurant as well. Some people just keep giving again again to their community. So I return home full of love, and grateful that I have something to share.
Yes we can....(Locate silver linings) Photo by Mary MacIntyre
Ok, this may not be all so new: actors and musicians often do fundraisers, but here is a new album with a grand story. As you may have noticed, that I have dedicated some time to supporting those who are working to help those in serious need. Non-profits now need help more than ever all around the world. So give when you can, give locally and when possible reach across the world. Here, the band provides a wonderful, mememorable way to make giving easy: I think their new album probably is terrific.
As winter is upon part of the world, the time for giving, doesn’t cease with the holidays. And if you were to travel to Africa, Asia, there are plenty of all year round troubles. It can be overwhelming.
What is not overwhelming is taking $5,$10, or more to donate either regularly or occassionally to those places that touch your heart.
If 2000 people donated $10 to their fav organization that’s $20,000.
At our local Food Depot, that would create 80,000 meals! Simply put, this demonstrates how important what you give can be. You do make a difference. Thanks, and do play the 2nd and last video. Feel good. Happy New Year’s. Please feel free to share this post anywhere, with everyone.
I thought I’d be creating traffic tonight for three projects. Well that got delayed to different technical occurenace and the fact that I was listening to a radio show. I listened to Bob the Teacher speak about www.squidoo.com
He’s a great techer and shows up all over the place. I also recently had heard another interview that he did which was even better! It was about cpanel. To learn more try this link: discovercpanel.com/easy/?videos=12298
I couldn’t find the place where he had said I could publish his interview. Or was it a video. However whilst I looked, I visited a fun writing blog called skywriter. Go to twitter.com/makinart and scroll around and you will find her.
Went to an old blog, did a new post. It was confusing. My initial point was to grab more traffic here.
But back to the squidoo story, you can get a free video from Bob the Teacher, and a bunch of bonuses. I think his Squidoo Secrets was one of them. I learned that my electic lifestyle on Squidoo isn’t doing me much good. However I googled my site name Makinart and squidoo and most of the 123 listings that came up had to do with MY activity and pages.
If you are a blogger, and want to be noticed by Google, keep writing your blog here with 451Press.com, and Squidoo a lot. I was impressed that I was doing decently, and that what the teacher said works.
So my wish for Christmas is threefold:
(Link me whenever you can)
1) Go to my squidoo lenses: start with www.squidoo.com/healheart
Leave a comment with your url. Do on others’ lenses too. This will help your traffic too.
2) Please send 5 firends each to visit me here: everyone leave a comment with a url.
3) Squidoo! It’s a fantastic way to expand your horizons and possible your success! Link like crazy. It’s still old fashioned but it helps.
4) Always twitter, digg, etc wherever you go.
Oh yeah if you twitter, please follow me. If you are a blogger, leave a comment and I will do the same to you. Have a happy holiday, and let’s create a lot of buzz about our blogs! Mary
I wanted to get a video here, but the computer is acting up. So til next time…squidoo!

WHAT YOU CAN DO
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Early this morning, I was waking from a dream and began a fantasy. I ended up in Africa starting several agriculture projects. Then the brain, in half trance made two connections: 1) The Pamoja Project and 2) Daniel Cobb D.O.M.
Daniel Cobb can assist patients with HIV or aids through nutritional supplements. You can read an article about this at www.squidoo.com/cobbarticles
I know Carol Day, the woman who started the Pamoja project from a church I used to attend. The church still provides some support for the project. Many people in Santa Fe create wonderful humanitarian projects. It’s rather amazing. I dream, they make their dreams reality. Read on about the project and please visit the site. I decided to add them to my holiday giving! I copied this from the Pamoja Project website:
In the Kiswahili language, “Pamoja” means “Together”. The Pamoja Project is a U.S. based non-profit organization that partners with organizations and individuals in HIV/AIDS ravaged northern Tanzania. We believe that by working with locally founded initiatives we can support communities in their resolve to recover economically, physically and spiritually from the damage done by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Horror in the Wind comes to the Guild
I’m a sucker for just about any movie made in New Mexico. This one sounds like a hoot, but it’s definitely not family fare. It is a comedy about two biogeneticists who invest an airborne formula that reverses the whole world’s sexual orientation. The entire cast and crew is from New Mexico so you might see a familiar face (or other body parts). It was shot in High Rolls, Tularosa and Alamogordo - set in the future when Pat Robertson and James Dobson are President and VP of the United States. Their campaign theme of The War on Sex backfires in hilarious ways. Cast and crew will be there in person for each of the screenings. Friday screenings are at 11pm; Saturday and Sunday at 1pm. Directed by Max Mitchell, 2008, 89m. View trailer here. Screening Fri-Sun, Dec. 12-14

Thank you for subscribing to undergroundARTS, the weekly supplement to Albuquerque’s monthly arts publication, albuquerqueARTS.
Albuquerque: Portait of A Western City edited by Mary Kay Cline Clear Light Publishing, Santa Fe NM. I am considering including exerpts from this book over a period of several weeks. It’s great to do some local networking, especially when it comes to and about books. I love books. Albuquerque NM sometimes takes a back seat on this blog. This book will easily provide a deeper perspective of Albuquerque’s dynamic history. I will also clip traditions, events, and more.
If you fall in love with these exerpts, then make sure to order this delightful volume at:www.clearlightbooks.com Remember if you are a bookseller you can order for your store from here as well. However my primary purpose here is to add more Albuquerque lore past and present for my blog.

New Mexico Revitalized
….40 years before “Old Town” was discovered, in 1930, a young man, Harvard educated, and fired by his zest for understanding the essence of what made things happen, had already docuemented and reflected on the historical and cultural landmarks that were to make the old plaza attractive to artists. He was Charles F. Lummis. “Albuqueque Portrait of a Western City Many Cultures and Opportunities”
Long before…now in my words…artists had come to New Mexico to sketch. So let’s look at some more information about this and Mr. Lummis.
Well the information I easily found about early artists in Albuquerque, lead me to a preview of American Art Colonies 1850-1930. by Steve Shipp. Google it and go to Chapter 14 page 93-and past page 98. I could not copy that. Also you can find information through the Harwood Museum, later discussed in this blog. First from wikipedia a few sketches of Mr Charles Lummis.
In 1888, Lummis moved to San Mateo, New Mexico to recuperate from his paralysis. He rode about the plains holding a rifle in one good hand while shooting wild jack rabbits. Here he began a new career as a prolific freelance writer, writing on everything that was particularly special about the Southwest and Indian cultures. However, some of his remarks written about corrupt bosses committing murders in San Mateo drew threats on his life, so he moved to a new location in the Pueblo Indian village of Isleta, New Mexico on the Rio Grande.
[edit] Indians of Isleta
Somewhat recovered from his paralysis, Lummis was able to win over the confidence of the Pueblo Indians by his outgoing and generous nature. But a hit man from San Mateo was sent up to Isleta to hunt him down, shooting him with a load of buckshot, but failing to kill him. In Isleta, Lummis divorced his first wife and married Eva Douglas, the sister-in-law of an English trader, who lived in the village. Somehow he convinces Eva to stay with Dorothea in Los Angeles until the divorce went through. In the meantime, Lummis entangled himself in fights with the U.S. government agents in charge of Indian education, who would remove the children from their homes and parents, sequestered for years at a time, not even allowing them to go home during holidays or vacation periods. He persuaded the government to allow 36 children from the Albuquerque Indian School to leave.
Charles Fletcher Lummis, 1897
[edit] Magazine editor
In 1892, Lummis released another book, Some Strange Corners of Our Country. Between 1893 and 1894, Lummis spent 10 months in Peru before returning to Los Angeles with his wife, Eva, and their year old daughter, Turbese. Unemployed and out of money, he finally landed the position of editor of a regional magazine, Land of Sunshine. The magazine was renamed Out West in 1901, and published works by famous authors such as John Muir and Jack London. Over his 11 years as editor, Lummis wrote more than 500 pieces for the magazine himself, as well as a popular monthly commentary called “In the Lion’s Den”. He also built a remarkable home out of stone which he named El Alisal for the sycamore tree that grew just outside. As president of the “Landmarks Club of Southern California” (an all-volunteer, privately funded group dedicated the preservation of California’s deteriorating Spanish missions, Lummis noted that the historic structures “…were falling to ruin with frightful rapidity, their roofs being breached or gone, the adobe walls melting under the winter rains.” [1] Lummis wrote in 1895 “In ten years from now—unless our intelligence shall awaken at once—”there will remain of these noble piles nothing but a few indeterminable heaps of adobe. We shall deserve and shall have the contempt of all thoughtful people if we suffer our noble missions to fall.” [2] At about the same time, Lummis also established a new Indian rights group called the “Sequoya League.”
Now you can to the early story of the Harwood Musuem. Contact the museum for more avenues of research about the early artists of Albuquerque NM. Never lose sight that the first artists were of course the Pueblo Indians.
A Brief History of The Harwood Museum 1916-1922
In the early part of the 20th Century, many artists were drawn to the Taos area to pursue a new, truly American art devoid of industrial influence, inspired instead by New Mexico’s landscape and light and the traditional Native American and Hispanic cultures of the region.
The Harwood Museum collection brings to the public a unique record of this artistic convergence from its beginnings to the present day. The embracing spirit of the Harwood was established by artists Burt and Elizabeth Harwood. In 1916, the Harwoods left their residence in France to move to Taos. They immediately purchased the Ledoux Street property which contained several small adobe buildings. By 1918, significant development had taken place under Burt Harwood’s direction. He remodeled the buildings using many local traditional construction techniques. The Harwood complex, then called El Pueblito, was on the forefront of the Pueblo/Spanish Revival and restoration movement in New Mexico.
The Early Harwood Foundation 1923-1935
From the beginning, the Harwoods’ home was the town’s only library. When the Harwoods discovered Taos had no library, they opened their extensive private collection of books to the public. By 1926, the Harwood Library was established and the community generously supported the growth of its collections. Mabel Dodge Luhan donated books from her private collection, contributed funds, and inspired other major support.
From 1924 on, much ….

Happy Thanksgiving! Mary
09:18 AM MST. I’ve already been up for a couple of hours. One cat not feeling well, and so I try to pamper her, get her to eat some, give her supplements: all in multiple stages. Already my client in Mexico has another request. I refused to answer the call before 7AM, as I was up until 01:30 AM or so today. Busy with appreciation. Had a report due yesterday that took me over an hour late last evening. Has correspondence to catch up, Managed to eat last night after a long and hectic day. Need to pay bills, write a poem, swim, eat, find the food depot to do a donation and more. By the world’s standards, other than the crisis mode my client is in, my life is simple.
I work on releasing stress. I am blessed that there are two doctors willing to work with me doing acupuncture and other alternative healing. My progress is relatively slow. They have offered a very reasonable fee plan: $0-$whatever I can pay. I’ve been fortunate to pay something every week. My body is making remarkable improvement. I can walk much better more often, with drastically reduced pain. Stress still is a major component within my body, a reminder that I have a long way to go.
Also I have started a major new diet. Fortunately, there are many foods that I like, however the list of do not touch, or rather eat is far greater. Starting a diet during the holidays is crazy, however, the time has come to make serious changes. Changing diet creates a significant stress all by itself. My tenant broke one of my favorite bowls yesterday. I have to wait for her to find a replacement. I pray for people around the world, who need help. I have access to plenty of food, I am most fortunate. I try to tell my body that my stress is minimumal. It says, “Yeah right!”
Years of stress long before all of today’s concerns has accumulated. Like most of house, there are piles and piles of residual stuff. However, the stuff that I have been through, has prepared me well for now. I don’t have a list of many crisis bills to pay. I live simply enough to enjoy small adventures. My trailer is paid for. My car is paid for. Fortunately, for now it is running well, In fact recent getting work done on it has removed one major stress. As I work a lot from my home, I can take this time to write.
In all of this I am also in one of my happiest times in my life. I have good friends. I am meeting new people, and expanding my community. I am working to create new work opportunities. I do more things that I want to do. This thanksgiving I have two places to visit. I can help friends find new opportunities as well. Ocassionally, I even relax. I can walk. I have hope and faith that my healing on all levels will continue to improve.
Here’s the first draft of a new poem:
THANKSGIVING
Our presence here together
Braids faith and joy through generations.
Our beings now energize
Gratefulness within our hearts.
Like bees going out into blossoming meadows,
Our thoughts fill the valleys.
We then look upon mountains’ majesty
And smile, for our journey may be long.
May we always remember and be glad
For the community we share here today.
So enjoy your holiday. Join me in my stress release prayers. Just say stress release, and then acknowledge a blessing. Or give a blessing prayer. Life is full of turmoil and challenges. Life also shows us gifts of love, opportunity, and spirit daily. Tune into this magnificant journey for we have many paths and stories to share.

Greetings friends and readers. I may be travelling over a lot of mind maps in the next few weeks. This could be a great adventure, and I hope you return here often. Everyone knows that holidays can be stressful times too. Ask the employees at almost any retail outlet and you’ll get a very long lists of….
And then there are family dramas. So I will ocassionally add some other thoughts to how you might approach these holidays. Gifts, details, etc. don’t really matter. Sure I love getting and giving gifts! I may even treat myself to a video tonight. I would also love to get a newsletter organized and build a huge mailing list. However,
during this season,
remember giving from and with your heart, every day. The gifts may be small, a prayer, a thank you, a smile. This weekend I probably helped 100 customers smile, laugh, or feel cared for. Each little thing, a moment’s comment, a thank you for their shopping here: it all created a big ball of well being.
Good stuff is contagious. Share it. Have a giving season. Also give to yourself. Several times a day. I’m om a new meal plan and though it is a bigger change than I thought, I am creating new dishes and taking extra care with what I cook. Each meal I give thanks. This may sound corny, but I am pouring as much love and gratitude into my cooking that I actually feel more nourished and satisfied. It’s a new creative project where I have to determine: how can I do this?
Today I went out to my car to collect some papers to do some “work” that normally I would not touch on my day off. It was so warm out (for here) that I chose to take a walk. So I walked about half a mile (a lot for me whilst my knee heals). I enjoyed the wide skies, warm sun, and mountain vista views. Create loving activities with yourself and friends all season long, and let them be small and stress free. Go now, have a cup of tea, and write yourself a love letter. Mary Read on:
Just for some fun.
10 Ways To Raise Your Vibration
Below are some timeless tips that will help you raise your vibration to enhance your manifesting success and connect more to the radiant truth of your being and the bountiful nature of reality.
1. Take Responsibility
As James Allen says, “Circumstance does not make a man, it reveals him to himself’. The more you take responsibility for your life, the more you are able to change it. Responsibility is freedom and empowerment. Become conscious of the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes that are creating your world. Take responsibility for them and choose those that serve you and your world.
2. Gratitude
Gratitude opens your heart and connects you and aligns your vibration to that which you feel grateful for and as such attracts more of the same into your life. It is a way to give (in its appreciation) and receive (by the opening and expansion of that giving). The more you value and appreciate something, the more there will be to value and appreciate.
3. Trust
Trust takes you towards happy desired outcomes in a magical, effortless way. Trust yourself and your power as a creator. Trust the universe and the gifts it wishes to bestow open you. Trust the doors that are opening and those that are closing. Relinquish control and allow yourself to be carried along the river of trust that will take you to your goals with grace and ease.
4. Suspend judgment
Judging others or yourself lowers and constricts your energy and separates you from love, truth and joy. It is a way of making yourself superior and above another by making them ‘less than’ or ‘wrong’. It can be a way you deny your own self-judgments by projecting your guilt onto another. The more you love and accept yourself, the less you judge others. We all make mistakes. Seek to forgive, love and understand both the one you are tempted to judge and any potential shadows within you that they are reflecting.
5. Meditate
Meditation allows a calm and balanced perspective to be reached and negativity to wash away and dissipate. It creates a gateway through which you can access higher states of consciousness and connect to the love and wisdom of your Higher Self. Meditation returns you to a place of clarity, truth and peace and allows your energy to clear, align, balance and recharge.
6. Honor your emotions
Honor your emotions and listen to what they are telling you about what’s going on inside. If they are negative or uncomfortable what thoughts or beliefs are they pointing to that may need changing or aligning? Express and release your feelings rather than deny, repress, control or judge them. This doesn’t mean wallowing in them or giving them undue attention if they do not serve you (i.e. nip that self-pity in the bud!), nor does it mean venting at someone inappropriately (writing a letter and burning it would be far ‘cleaner’). Honour your emotions by accepting them and allowing them to be released.
7. Know you are loved
You are loved totally and unconditionally by the source of creation. There is nothing you need do to win that love and nothing you can do to lose it. Becoming aware of this truth connects you to your inherent value, increases your sense of worth and deserving, heals pain of separation and loneliness and opens you to the love that is there for you in every moment.
8. Forgive yourself and others
Forgiveness of self and others is the ultimate mind-body-soul detox. It liberates you from whole clusters of toxic emotions and sets you free from draining attachments. It can also set you free from feelings of guilt, shame and undeserving that block you from happiness and success. In forgiving another you are also forgiving yourself. It is an immensely powerful force for healing and transformation and a most gracious gift you can give yourself and another.
9. Have fun
Fun will attract success into your life like iron filings to a magnet. It is the antidote to stress, struggle, tediousness and seriousness. When you are having fun you are open and sharing of who you are and ride on the current of spontaneity and joy. What brings you fun, happiness and joy? Commit to more of it in all areas of your life!
10. Love, Love, Love!
Love yourself and others. There may be times this is easier than others, but make it your overriding intention. Love lies at the heart of all that you seek, and separation from it lies at the root of your troubles and pain. Let love be a guiding light in your life that will steer your ship through stormy waters back to the shore of truth, happiness and joy. We all love to love and be loved! It doesn’t get better than that! It is the highest vibration there is. The more you love yourself and others, the happier, brighter and more successful your life will become.

Out of the Ordinary Festival 2008 continues
This annual event brings contemporary dance to Albuquerque from around the world. The festival runs through November 22. This weekend enjoy Heidi Latsky Dance (NYC) in Disjointed. Inspired by Latsky’s mother, who battled a lifetime of brain tumors, Disjointed is a tribute to anyone who has suffered in silence yet struggled through to discover ways to make life meaningful. This powerful work emphasizes community in its mingling of Latsky’s company members with a large cast of local dancers. Audience members are encouraged to wear hats to the performance in honor of Heidi’s mother. For details on all the performances, visit the web site.

Geoff Muldaur at the Outpost
Geoff Muldaur is one of the great voices and musical forces to emerge from the folk, blues and folk-rock scenes in Cambridge, MA and Woodstock, NY. Guitarist, Richard Thompson says of Muldaur, “There are only three white blues singers, and Geoff Muldaur is at least two of them.” Muldaur made a series of highly influential recordings as a founding member of the Jim Kweskin Jug Band and Paul Butterfield’s Better Days group, as well as collaborations with then- wife Maria (”Midnight at the Oasis”) Muldaur. In the 1980’s he left the road and concentrated on composing film and television scores, garnering an Emmy in the process. He produced offbeat albums for Lenny Pickett and the Borneo Horns and the Richard Greene String Quartet, and his definitive recording of “Brazil” provided the seed for Terry Gilliam’s film of the same name. Muldaur re-entered the touring world in the mid-1990s with his magical voice and singular approach to American music completely intact. He recently toured Japan, Scotland, Ireland, England and Sweden as well as the Pacific Northwest in the U.S. Muldaur has appeared at Lincoln Center, the Getty Art Center, London’s Royal Festival Hall, and folk and blues festivals worldwide. He can also be heard regularly as a guest on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion. His recordings, The Secret Handshake and Password, feature his unusually crafted interpretations of classic, oftentimes obscure, American material, as well as his own unique compositions. His 2003 release, Private Astronomy, on the Deutsche Gramophone ‘classical’ label is a departure from his folk roots and instead features his unique arrangements for chamber ensemble of the obscure piano compositions of the great 1920’s jazz trumpeter Bix Beiderbecke. “Geoff Muldaur was and is one of my musical heroes,” writes Loudon Wainwright III . “When I listen to him sing and play, I can hear the coal mine, the cotton field, and last, but certainly foremost, the boy’s boarding school.” Check him out on You Tube.

It is the time of giving, and harvest. As in this photo by Mary MacIntyre, we have shared enormous abundance and beauty in our lives. This is especially true of Americans. However, as we often choose to value $$$$ first and foremost, we may neglect our greatest riches. Today I received 2 emails with a money angel. They were most positive.
Will the money angel work? I hope so, because I could sure use some extra money, couldn’t you? If anyone is really rich feel free to redistribute some of your extra cash. However for the rest of us, we might do well to try three things: use the law of circulation.
1) give some stuff away to friends, family, or charity.
2) as we are dealing with $$$ money, give some $$$ to 5 different people or charities.
3) Copy and paste these emails, or the whole blog and send to as many friends and associates as you can.
Please report back to me with comments. And stories. I’ll publish them. Let love, grace, light, and abundance be wild and full in your life! Also remember, Daniel Cobb DOM has a great book on heart health. www.lulu.com
Money Angel
This is a money angel… Pass it on to 6 of your good friends,
or family and be rich in 4 Days.
Pass it to 12 of your good friends or family and be rich in 2 Days.
I am not joking. You will find an unexpected windfall. If you delete it, you will never know!
SHE WORKS SHE REALLY WORKS!!
Heres to our success!!!
Dear friends…Please spend a few minutes and send this dear angel on its way…it certainly cant do any harm!
She really works!!!!!!!!! If you need money
Money Coming Your Way!
From youtube:
Well I am disapointed on youtube as this isn’t, and there wasn’t a great video. So here is another trick:
a friend of mine wanted to loosen up her husband’s attitude about money. So she got 100 ones or more, opened them up, and threw them at him in his office. She shut the door and said play with them. Don’t come out until you feel better. Try whatever works with you. Bless you.
Under These skies, warriors fought and died for freedom
Remember the veterans who lived and live. It’s a good time to fight for veterans rights. Make sure that they are cared for, and have programs to help them with all the issues they face. And perhpas if we really grow, we can meet the declaration long ago made in WWI: that this be the war to end all wars. Perhaps one day we will learn how to wage peace for all human beings.

Exhibition No. 14
The photography of Mary Macintyre
Mary has been a member of Adlandpro since October 2006. She sells her photos individually or in sets. You can find a wide variety of subject mater on Mary’s site. Her prints are reasonably priced.
About the artist: Mary MacIntyre
In 1972, I bought an instantmatic camera at Springfield College and began for the second time my photographic exploration. 1974 soon after graduation from Franconia College, I bought my first 35MM camera and within a year I was showing in Maine.
Since then, I’ve been intermittently active as a photographer, and enjoy the challenge of nature wherever I am. I rarely take “tourist” pictures and I am fascinated both by composition and abstracted images. This show celebrates the feminine and delicate side of spring in New Mexico. All the pictures are not of spring but embrace the ecstacy of life surging wildly forth, and the joy of finding new ideas, hope, and rebirth after hard times. The buffalo provides a great mystical inspiration and helps us to become grounded. Find peace in your heart. Om. Mary MacIntyre
