Otero Mesa slideshow and book signing
Bookworks is hosting a slideshow, book talk and signing with full-color images by renowned photographers Stephen Strom and Stephen Capra, text by prizewinning nature and geography writer Gregory McNamee. They have documented the subtle landscape of this remote Chihuahuan Desert grassland in southern New Mexico.

Virgen of Guadalupe Exhibit at NHCC
The 2008 Virgen de Guadalupe exhibit, curated by Maria Otero, features 13 artworks that explore how la Virgen de Guadalupe relates to mestizaje. The pieces come from the NHCC Permanent Collection which contains 179 Guadalupe objects donated by Kendell O. and Wilda I. Shlenker in 2002. FREE and open 10am-5pm daily.
