10 Fav things about ALB; and 10 fav’s about Santa Fe

img_3565a.jpgimg_3524.JPGimg_3692.JPGGetting ready for the 4th of July? It’s only 2 days away. I was going to write a blog about what the 4th means to me, and well, I wouldn’t be very politically correct. If I were a flag waver, I’d say raise all your AMERICAN USA FLAGS! I would talk about the declaration of independence and constitution: THE AMERICAN constitution thank you. I’d say come to this country legally and learn to speak English and respect the laws and our culture.

However, my government barely does that. The easiest way to get a job in New Mexico is if you are an illegal alien. Ditto welfare, and government programs. I could go on and on. However I make a daily practise to check my racism. I want a president and staff who are not above the law, and uphold the constitution. I want American public schools to teach ENGLISH. So how does a liberal feminist deal with such disparities? A work in progress I guess.

Some things I forgot about Alb + SF Mountains, mountain lions, desert plains, and SUN! And KSFR radio www.ksfr.org

10 Favorite things about Albuquerque:

Entertainment: We attract some of the best shows and acts in America! It’s good to be a hotspot. Visit www.abqarts.com

2) the Albuquerque Zoo, where some animals can roam. there was no one easy llink: go to www.albcity.gov If this doesn’t work: google.

3)Food! This city has so many good restaurants. I like the small les famous ones found while meandering around the city. Vietnamese Restaurants are a great value. Especially on the southeast side of town. Also on the northeast of Albuquerque on Wyoming or a little north and Menual or Montgomery there’s a local bakery that’s to die for. Also more east, maybe at Eubanks and Mongomery there is an incredible Chinese Buffet, near the Wild Oats.

4) Nob Hill, a quaint old neighborhood with little speciality shops, and lots of music.

5) UNM: Got everything a great university needs. A metro unto itself with sports, library, music, and adjacent businesses: more food and bookstores. Yes UNM has educational programs too.

6)Big Green parks.

7) Page One Books

8) Film industry

9) Public Radio

10) Lots of jobs!

10 FAV’s about Santa Fe (where no one agrees about….)

It’s smaller. Small old city that is DIFFERENT. Called the City Different.

2) Healing arts. So many people come here to teach and practise healing arts: a mecca.

3) Some of the finest, and varied cuisine in the USA.

4) City sponsored free programs for the ARTS.

5) A city government that frequently listens to its citizens!

6) The museums and art galleries.

7) Quirky citizens with diverse ideology.
